Marvel Rivals: Leos LA Review Hero Shooter Throwdown

Introduction: Leos adopt the New Marvel Shooter.

This is a review of Marvel Rivals. Straight outta LA word from your boy Leo. I enjoy gaming and kick it at 3215 Overland Ave Los Angeles CA 90034. Spend a minute in the scene of the game review to bring in the true value.

First Hype and Overwatch Comparisons: Known but Enjoyable

If you enjoy hero shooters pay attention since Marvel Rivals dropped with pure fire. I love both Marvel and StarCraft thus when this game came out I got excited to see it personally.

a superhero game where you choose among a packed array of Marvel icons. genius on paper without a cap.

You always have to question though whether the finished work lives up to the expectations. Most of those questions disappeared after spending crazy hours with the beta last summer.

And now that the whole game is available any lingering concerns have disappeared.
This game is freetoplay hence it doesnt try to disguise its OW feelings.

Launching Convoy Domination and Convergence they acquired three game modes. Basically that is actual Payload Control and Hybrid modes for StarCraft 2.

Some hero skills in Blizzards game seem like straightforward jack em.

Like Reapers Death Blossom Ult Scarlet Witchs Ultimate is essentially a D.Va Bomb and StarLords Blaster Barrage. Marvel Rivals borrows ideas hence some players might be sour.

Thats fine. But what it might lack in creative work makes up for pure enjoyment.

Gameplay: Team Up Synergy and Destructible Environments

Marvel Rivals straight up is fantastic. Having spent years playing StarCraft the parallels made it simple for me to pick up this new NetEase game.

Indeed many of the skills and concepts are familiar yet they nevertheless keep you interested and are entertaining. And dont let it become twisted.

Marvel Rivals also carries original ideas.
Marvel Rivalss destructible settings fundamentally alter the gameplay. This gives the already wild matches an absolutely amazing depth.

Your authority allows you to destroy mapped buildings. Imagine blowing apart a structure where attackers were hidden behind a wall a sniper was chillin down.

With this you can absolutely make planned plays the true heat comes from the crazy unanticipated events it generates.

Not only wipe out the enemy team but also bring down an entire cliff leavin you and your crew in a pile of rubble. Your powers in a combat are not like others.

Team Up Skills: Strategic Combining and Crazy Events

Marvel Rivals distinguishes itself from StarCraft only by means of destructible surroundings. The games teamup features cause you to consider who you would like to roll with.

For instance it makes sense for someone else to grab Rocket Raccoon if someone else picks The Puncher.

A gadget allowing Puncher to shoot without reloadin can be dropped by rocket. Additionally Rocket can ride on Groots shoulders and if Luna Snow is on the same squad Jeff the Land Shark can gain an icy boost on his missiles.
Working with Wolverine and the Hulk is among the most entertaining teambuilding exercises. Hulk can seize Wolverine and toss him at the foe.

Although it may not always get a kill it can cause insane diversions that expose the enemy team wide open. Some expert players have even knocked flyin opponents outta the heavens with this Fastball Special.

The several skills on the Marvel Rivals roster can be creatively applied in many ways. And combo possibilities will blow out when they add more heroes.

Balance and Fun: The Wild Side of Marvel Rivals

Some people could have a point since some people believe the Marvel Rivals teamings are overly strong.

Certain skills like Jeff the Land Sharks Ultimate where he can swallow a whole team and chuck em off a cliff for a simple wipe have also drawn complaints.

Though its not always a negative thing Marvel Rivals aint a balanced game right now Your buddies will remember many funny times resulting from your wild talents.

To be honest Im hoping they stay in. While certain balancing adjustments would be appropriate for the competitive scene NetEase must exercise caution not to nerf all the fun outta Marvel Rivals.

Create a Superhero Smorgasbord launch roster.

Luna Snow Magik Magneto Mantis Moon Knight Namor Peni Parker Psylocke Puncher Rocket Raccoon Scarlet Witch SpiderMan Squealer

Problems: Maps Progress and Battle Pass

Though it has a few other problems as well Yes Marvel Rivals is not balanced. One they will fix finally with fresh material one that most likely wont ever alter.

Ideally they will cover the dearth of maps. Marvel Rivals only includes eight maps for the primary game types at launch which might get somewhat monotonous after some time.

It doesnt help that some maps show two in Yggsgard two in Tokyo 2099 and two in the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda in the same overall region.

Marvel Rivals unrewarding growth is most likely going to remain the same. Standard for freetoplay games puttin the coolest skins in the shop and basically pay real cash if you want the excellent things is reasonable from a financial one.

However I believe a system whereby players could unlock skins more frequently ingame would be ill.

Although their original gameplay was disorganized somewhat got things right with loot boxes. Globally rules suggest that Marvel Rivals most likely has a similar setup.

But because right now it feels meaningless when you hit level 10 for ranked play it would make levelins way much more interesting.
Neither is the Marvel Rivals Battle Pass advancement perfect either.

Rather of a standard Battle Pass where you level up Marvel Rivals you get money for doing challenges and spend that to select particular track prizes.

While some may appreciate this I believe it lessens the hype around unlocking.

Since Marvel Rivals Battle Passes dont expire this technique may feel better when there are several Battle Passes to pick from. On that however we must wait and see.

Experience Gameplay: Polished Feel and Fast Matchmaking

Marvel Rivals has 6v6 fights devoid of a role queue. Although some games have been really unpleasant without a role queue thus far it has not been a huge issue for me.

Except for minor problems my time with Marvel Rivals has been awesome. Matchmaking is lightning quick and easy to fit in one more game.

Plus the game seems to be really polished. Marvel Rivalss 33character deep roster keeps conflicts interesting and novel.

There is so much diversity here that I cannot see me becoming bored anytime soon particularly if they keep routinely dropping fresh heroes and maps.

Future Prospect: A Challenge to Crown of ATK

Marvel Rivals sees as the first actual challenge to the crown of Overwatch. I could see me playing this game long term.

And the truth is Marvel Rivals at launch is only beginning. Maps for the future and fresh characters have countless opportunities.

For what next some of the leaked Marvel Rivals characters had me pumped. The way this game develops excites me.

Leos final verdict: nine out of ten

Marvel Rivals overall rates as a strong 9 out of 10. PC PS5 and Xbox Series X now have it available. Game Rant went over the Xbox Series X game.

Wordofmouth has some players like Zeke sayin their fun but they ran across problems with bugs and cheaters.

Though every game has issues maybe NetEase fixes things quickly. Keep it real. Loki and Storm are even droppin fresh skins so they are absolutely keepin the game current.
